The art of forgiveness
After being away for so long, I realized there was no where else like home, and there was no other people like those I was born with. I remembered the situation at home and how my father had made every sacrifice to see everyone of us succeed, as children are a poor man's riches. Sorry to call my dad poor though according to the life I lived, the poverty I was brought up in, of course no other good word to describe it other than poor.

It was five years back when I left to search for green pastures in the neighbouring country, since there was no reliable and effective means of communication home, I spent all the five years not knowing the condition there and the challenges they were undergoing.

Unfortunately my mother died two years after I left and no one knew where I was to give me the message. The death of my mother affected my father so much that he became diabetic which later resulted to hypertension. His health deteriorated and became very severe that he could not even do anything for himself.

The only person who was left home was my little sister who lived in devastation and desperation not knowing nor predicting the future. Why should such a little young innocent girl suffer in the pain of her family?

After a long narration, that can fill a book, which probably I'll do later, I regretted very much my decision of leaving home, but what else could I have done other than leaving to look for something to support them? But unfortunately I didn't and my mother died of lack of proper health care and there was my father suffering in the death bed.

I bent down, broke into tears and prayed God for forgiveness.
Fortunately enough, before my father died forgave me by reading this verse to me in the bible that really acted as his inspiration all through.
"You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you."
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your father in heaven may forgive you your sins,
"Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered."
