To mother another
Motherhood is one of the most challenging events in life. It's a nine-month journey from surety to the constant unknown. Learning is identified as developing knowledge from the known to the unknown. Unfortunately, motherhood is an unknown challenge that nobody can train you on. As time goes by it becomes a lesson and an event that can never be taken back. The joy of motherhood is often confusing and a personal experience. Many people often assume that motherhood is a common experience that can be associate with other children.
Motherhood is not only challenging but also associated with different types of changes. A majority of new mothers learn about motherhood from their mothers, sisters, and friends but often many forget the challenges that a new role has. Yes, we are challenged by situations differently. But when looking at motherhood one major aspect the society assumes is that motherhood is not a common experience.
Many mothers face postpartum depression which is often identified as the inability to adjust. Postpartum depression is defined as a complex mix of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes that happen in some women after giving birth. The complexity of it is mainly associated with the inability of the mother to understand their struggle. Many mothers face indifference towards their child without knowledge as to why. This behavior is often judged as and mother questioned, judged and a mother ridiculed without trying to understand.
Every mother needs to know that every new challenge is a personal challenge. As we hold our little angels in our hands we need to accept that we are all capable of being great parents but no matter what all parents learn from doing. There is no perfect parent and every day is a learning curve. Remember if u see a person struggling don't assume they are unable to cope avail yourself to support and exhibit trust. Remember postpartum depression is treatable. Discuss your worries with a doctor.
Remember "Mothers have no idea what they're doing but every day we still do it over and over again."
