Well, this is not about the meaning of it but the reality of the thing standing on the way of another journey.

Everyone knows of a friend who said they wanted to be or do this or that. As the years went by, most of them narrowed down their choices to exactly what they actually wanted to do with their life. Some went ahead against all odds to be or do exactly that and some changed their course as soon as they spotted the thing on the way.

This is the name that the ones who went ahead gave to the thing, they called it "The Devil's Scarecrow". They said, as soon as they got to it, it was nothing but an illusion left by haters to keep them from pursuing their dreams.

They left a note for us, it said "We face that thing everyday and every time we keep knocking it down. Keep on pursuing and hitting your goals, that scary thing on the way disappears as soon as you approach it. All you have to do is approach it head on".
