How to dodge phishing baits
If you have received random emails, calls or sms instructing you to change your password or perform some other activities from unauthorized sources, someone has already tried to bait you for phishing.

Phishing is the malicious act by fraudsters of sending a false e-mail with the intent of masquerading as a trustworthy entity in order to acquire sensitive information, such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. This is more of a social engineering strategy used to entice the victim to give away confidential information which is then used in fraudulent activities.

How to detect phishing baits

# They are usually SMS(es), emails, voice calls or chats instructing you to click a link to change your password or download something.
# The instructions are labelled high priority or urgent.
# You cannot validate the source of that message or person.
# The sender lengthly introduces themselves.

What to do

# Do not click the links.
# If a voice call, disconnect and report the caller's number to authority or your bank's customer care.
# Delete the messages / emails.
# Validate the said domain by searching it instead of clicking the link.
# If you have clicked such links before, change your password immediately.
# Do not give away your confidential or any information.
