Do It Now

We kept saying, "One day."
“One day we’ll have that sleepover.”
“One day we’ll stay up talking all night, laugh until our stomachs hurt, and just be present with each other.”
But that one day never came.
And now, she’s gone.
There’s a heaviness I can’t explain. Not just grief—but regret. Regret that we believed we had more time. That life would wait until we were "less busy" or "more ready."
We didn’t think the last time we texted would be the last time.
We often treat life like it's on layaway. Like we can pick it back up when the timing is better, when our schedules align, when we feel like it. But time doesn’t pause for us to catch up. Life is happening now. And loss has a way of reminding us just how fragile and fleeting it really is.
So if there’s something on your heart—do it now.
Call that friend.
Say “I love you.”
Plan the sleepover.
Take the trip.
Start the thing you've been putting off.
Apologize. Forgive. Celebrate. Show up.
Because moments don’t wait. And memories can’t be made in tomorrow—they’re built in the now.
My friend deserved more time. But what we have left is what we choose to do with the time we still have.
So please, let this be your reminder: Don’t wait. Do it now.
