Most moments young people, lose their lives, often making as believe that they died too soon. This has become a great concern over the year due to the increased mortality of young people. More often these losses are avoidable.
Recently I lost a friend only 32 years. The unfortunate part in this was that he died by his hand. Suicide deaths have been on the increase and often create a sense of shock. Many have died while those closest to them barely recognized they were struggling. Sometimes the thought that a friend, an acquaintance, or a relative felt so alone that they choose death weighs highly on oneself.
Suicide is a self-inflicted death, which often takes place with a sense of fear and finalist. Our ability to recognize once struggles have become harder due to reduced social interactions. More often people feel alone and unsupported leading to depression and anxiety. Although some cases are noted some go unnoticed due to a person's constant expression of a happy life.
Today make an effort to check up on all those around you. That little phone call or text may just be the reason someone walks down a ledge. Remember to be your brother's keeper.
