Tough times don't last
Just the other day the whole world was celebrating World Aids day and as I was reflecting on the progress in the management of this virus, I noted great improvement from what was there a decade before. Years ago, HIV-AIDS was a big challenge especially in the third world countries. It was associated with high death rates, societal problems like discrimination and weakening of the economy. Over the years, progress has been made and it is no longer a major concern as it was before.
This is evident from the decline in deaths from the virus, improved quality of life for people living with the virus and reduced stigma.
In the present time, we are living in a 'Covid 19 world and this has been a tough time for a lot of people all over the world. The new virus has claimed the lives of many. There's a lot of discrimination of families who have suffered this disease. Also, the world has suffered economic disruptions and this time the education system has also been affected adversely.
Good thing is, this too shall pass. Thou the virus might stay be around for a while, but all the bad that has come with it will eventually be a thing the past. Perhaps the virus too will pass and be forgotten. As long as we are alive, there's hope for a better tomorrow!
