All The Right Friends
If you have a few great friends, then this piece may sound all too familiar.

A while back when I started losing my hair, I decided to have my head clean shaven, I was feeling somewhat mad seeing my afro fall off fast from the top. That was in my early 20s, I was eccentric, a coder and had no life except for being a co-fun and co-critique of weird series and movies to my fellow weirdo campus mate, my right friend.

When he saw my scalp, all clean, he was so disappointed. To his why, I said I did not want to see my hair fall in front of my deep eyes. He was specifically furious as I had lots of pimples on the scalp caused by the thorough shave.

This is what he told me, "Whether you like it or not, your hair will fall because that gene is in you, the best you can do is love the pretty boy the way he is". I found it very unique that he hit me on the face with the truth and had the courage to admit he found me pretty.

Since then, I have had more right friends experiences. Here are some few things I have learnt your true friends will confidently do.

# Show up for you when you need them.
# Celebrate your success with you.
# Protect you even from yourself.
# Reach out to you not because they need something but because they want to give you something.
# Hit you with the truth on the face.

If you got friends who do such, you got the right friends.
